The top quark is the heaviest known fundamental particle and probing its couplings with the other fundamental particle may open a window to physics beyond the Standard Model. Measurements of the charge asymmetry in top quark pair events are presented. The charge asymmetry is expected to be small in the Standard Model, but can be enhanced by the presence of new physics. The measurements use the 2012 ATLAS dataset and include a measurement using specialized algorithms to select high transverse momentum top quarks. Searches for flavour changing neutral current top quark decays using the full 2012 ATLAS dataset are presented.
