Abstract— this paper documents my 8-week work project at the AEḡIS experiment. My project was to measure the number of positrons in the antihydrogen production region: the number of positrons being transferred in and the number that is trapped. For an easier overview this project can be divided into three main tasks: 1. Theoretical preparation; 2. Troubleshoot of detector 3. Cooling of detector to cryogenic temperature. Descriptions of these tasks are presented below
The production of antihydrogen is examined in the light of recent experimental results on a techniqu...
A main scientific goal of the AEgIS experiment is the direct measurement of the Earth’s local gravit...
This thesis describes positron and antihydrogen research performed at CERN in the context of the ATR...
A positron accumulator based on a modified Penning-Malmberg trap has been constructed and undergone ...
The production and study of cold antihydrogen will require the manipulation of dense and cold, singl...
Many cold positrons in ultrahigh vacuum are required to produce cold antihydrogen, to cool highly st...
A new physical mechanism for positron accumulation is explained and demonstrated. Strongly magnetize...
The positron, the antiparticle of the electron, predicted by Dirac in 1931 and discovered by Anderso...
We present the commissioning of the Fast Annihilation Cryogenic Tracker detector (FACT), installed a...
A theoretical underpinning of the standard model of fundamental particles and interactions is CPT in...
Positrons accumulated in a room-temperature buffer-gas-cooled positron accumulator are efficiently t...
A positron accumulator based on the modified Penning-Malmberg design of Surko and co-workers at UCSD...
Thesis (Ph. D.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Physics, 2002.Includes bibliographi...
