Purpose The prevalence of psychiatric disorders in children and young people is increasing, leading to recommendations that medical schools re-consider their curriculum content and teaching practices for child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP). The purpose of this paper is to seek guidance for undergraduate curriculum development from the wider literature on CAP curriculum content and teaching practices. Design/methodology/approach A comprehensive search of the literature was conducted, focussing on studies that examined undergraduate teaching of CAP.
