The complex interrelationships between age, class, ethnicity, poverty, sexual orientation and a number of other social divisions have a significant impact upon the experience of domestic violence and abuse (DVA) (Sokoloff & Dupont, 2006). In dialogue with other feminist approaches to marginalised identities (Crenshaw, 1993, Skeggs 1997, Brah & Phoenix, 2004, Yuval-Davis, 2006), this qualitative study explores the intersection of age, class and gender as experienced by adolescent service users living within an economically deprived neighbourhood in the North West of England.
