The LHCb experiment at LHC is a single-armed spectrometer designed to pursue extensive, high precision studies of CP violation and rare phenomena in $b$ hadron decays. In this contribution, the trigger and reconstruction performance are summarized, and the expected performance for selected $b$ physics measurements is discussed
