A series of bimetallic Platinum-Ruthenium / Al2O3 catalysts, prepared by coimpregnation have been studied by in situ EXAFS and XANES measurements using the Synchrotron radiation that was produced in the D.C.I. storage ring of LURE (Orsay). It is shown that these catalysts are well reduced at 400°C and present four- different kind of metallic particles: f.c.c. Pt particles, Ru particles and Pt rich or Ru rich bimetallic or alloy agregates
