In this paper are reported the available gas-phase data on the kinetics of hydroxyl radicals (OH) with oxygen-containing organic compounds together with mechanistic information. A predictive method developed to estimate the room temperature rate constants for the reactions of OH radicals with aliphatic alcohols, aliphatic and cyclic ethers, polyethers, ketones, diones, hydroxyethers, ketoethers and hydroxyketones is presented. A correlation between gas-phase and solution- phase kinetic data for the reactions of saturated OCOC with OH radicals is presented
