The pulsed laser photolysis - laser induced fluorescence (PLP-LIF) method has been used to measure the rate constants for the reactions of OH with 1-bromopropane (CH3CH2CH2Br), k1, and 2-bromopropane (CH3CHBrCH3), k2. The results obtained in the temperature range (233-372) K are :k1 = (5.29 ± 0.29) x 10-12 exp[-(456 ± 31)/T] cm3 molecule-1 s-1k2 = (3.58 ± 0.47) x 10-12 exp[-(392 ± 75)/T] cm3 molecule-1 s-1This is the first determination of the temperature dependence of these two rate constants. At 298 K, the measured rate constants were :k1(298K) = (1.17 ± 0.12) x 10-12 cm3 molecule-1 s-1k2(298K) = (0.94 ± 0.11) x 10-12 cm3 molecule-1 s-1which are in very good agreement with the only other determination reported so far
