Most of the mendicant orders temples built in Galicia in the thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries were renovated and extended in the late Middle Ages and in modern times. The weight of the tradition of founder’s pilgrimage to Compostela in 1214 and the divine revelation to build convents of his Order in Spain, the first of which would be the Compostela, was the main reason for the conservation of the medieval church up to the XVIII century. This sacred space evoked the founding by San Francisco de Asís. Successive enlargements of the apse and around the nave covered the needs of the faithful.
