Purpose. Assessment of the current state, design features and development prospects of electric-discharge submersible devices for well treatment. Methodology. Analysis of the principle of operation and design of electric-discharge submersible devices for well treatment. Findings. The necessity of using the multi-stage energy conversion schemes for the electric-discharge submersible devices for well treatment is justified, taking into account the features of electric-discharge effects, critical conditions for processing the bottom-hole zone of the well, increased reliability requirements for all units of the submersible part of the complex and the remoteness of the processing object from the power source.
