End of 2009 the Large Hadron Collier (LHC) at CERN has provided the first proton-proton collision inititally with a beam energy of 450 GeV beam energy and then also with 1.18 TeV. The ATLAS experiment, one of the four major experiments at LHC, has recorded more than 0.5 million collision candidate events during this time. Prior to this ATLAS had already recorded millions of high quality cosmic ray data. Using both cosmic ray and collision data the ATLAS experiment has succesfully started to commission the entire detector in preparation for first physics results.
