Brain cancer, in particular glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), is an extremely invasive cancer with a dismal prognosis. The use of drugs capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier has shown modest prolongation in patient survival, but not without unsatisfactory systemic, dose-limiting toxicity.
