The article was carried out analysis of the literary-critical, contextual and exegetical Ex 2,1–10. It was carried out for extracting the potential of this passage “oldest” of information from the tradition of Moses. The conclusions drawn on this basis does not allow you to confirm the archaic and independent existence of this passage in its original version. According to the author of the oldest part of the tradition is the same, only the name of Moses. All other information contained in this pericope May explicit reference to the proximal and distal context of Genesis and Exodus
