The surgical treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm and its complications based on own experience

The purpose of the study — to research the own results of surgical treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms and to identify measures to prevent possible complications. A retrospective analysis of 46 cases was done. The main cause of deaths in the early postoperative period was a myocardial infarction — in 6 ((13.1 ± 1.4)%) patients and acute ischemia of the left half of the colon — in 2 ((4.3 ± 0.8)%) cases. In the distant period the survival depended on the state of blood flow in the basin of the coronary and brachiocephalic arteries, the development of local complications and cancer. Chronic ischemia of the left half of colon was diagnosed in 8 ((20.5 ± 2.0)%) patients and was the most frequent complication in the later stages after resection of abdominal aortic aneurysms
