Mannheimia succiniciproducens is a capnophilic gram-negative bacterium isolated from bovine rumen. Wild-type M. succiniciproducens can produce succinic acid as a major fermentation product with acetic, formic, and lactic acids as byproducts during the anaerobic cultivation using several different carbon sources.
