AS TÉCNICAS DE REPRODUÇÃO ASSISTIDA (TRA) À LUZ DA BIOÉTICA

26 páginasAssisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), as a solution to the issues of human infertility, have been developed since the mid-twentieth century. The development of these techniques, their progress and results have occurred simultaneously with two events related to ART: the establishment of new rights that have contributed to their endorsement, and the birth of bioethics that have allowed the recognition of their limits. The cultural change due to the coming of ART is characterized by three topics that are discussed in this article and which are all included in the so-called gender ideology: the concept of woman and the control of her body, kinship and parentage, and the idea of autonomy. Some considerations on these topics are presented as well as some alternatives to ART, which include learning to redirect their work based on criteria pointed out by bioethical reflection. Such criteria reveal the profound meaning of preserving the dignity of every single person within a true human frameworkLas técnicas de reproducción asistida (TRA), como una solución a las problemáticas de la esterilidad e infertilidad humanas, se han venido desarrollando desde mediados del siglo XX. El planteamiento de la misma técnica, su progreso y los resultados alcanzados han sido coetáneos con dos hechos antagónicos en relación con ella: la creación de nuevos derechos, que han contribuido a refrendarla, y el surgimiento de la bioética, que ha permitido señalar sus limitaciones. El cambio cultural que ha propiciado el advenimiento de las TRA está marcado, entre otros, por tres temas que se revisan aquí: el concepto de mujer y el manejo de su cuerpo, el parentesco o filiación y la noción de autonomía; todos ellos englobados en la llamada ideología de género. Se reflexiona sobre estos tópicos y se ofrecen algunas alternativas para las TRA, que incluyen el aprender a reorientar su trabajo con criterios señalados por la reflexión bioética, que muestran el profundo significado que tiene preservar la dignidad de cada persona desde su concepción en un contexto verdaderamente humano
