Many reconstruction and simulation programs exist at CERN which contain subroutines for numerically integrating the equations of motion of a particle in a magnetic field. The efficiency of these routines greatly influence computer time consumption and so a study has been done to find the best routine for a given situation, in terms of a balance between accuracy and speed
