Among theories of physics beyond the Standard Model, SUSY is certainly the one which has been most studied. However, there exist a lot of other very attractive possibilities. Grand Unified Theories, or more generally theories with extended gauge symmetries, have been proposed which have striking signatures detectable with early LHC data. This is true as well for other models such as technicolor or compositeness. More recently, a new class of BSM models has appeared which explore effects due to the possible existence of extra dimensions. ATLAS and CMS prospects for such discoveries will be shown for a few chosen examples
