Iron deficiency anemia occurs frequently in pregnancy and in the postnatal period. It is associated with the increased maternal, fetal and infant morbidity. The article considers the main points of iron deficiency diagnosis and the existing options of its correction depending on the duration of pregnancy, the severity of anemia, the necessary rate of recovery of iron deficiency, contraindications and adherence to the therapy.
