The OBJECTIVE was to evaluate oncological results of five-year survival of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) complicated by bleeding who underwent emergency resections.MATERIAL AND METHODS. The study included the data of 240 patients with CRC complicated by bleeding treated in General and specialized surgical hospitals in Smolensk between 2001 and 2013 (13 years).RESULTS. Of 240 patients with CRC complicated by bleeding, 233 underwent emergency resections. Statistically significant differences were revealed in R1 and the number of investigated lymph nodes between the coloproctological and General surgical hospitals (p=0.01, p<0.001) and oncological and General surgical hospitals (p=0.016, p<0.0001).
