Purpose. Comparison of the safety, efficacy and results of vitreoretinal surgery using a three-dimensional imaging system in comparison with a standard microscope.Material and methods. The study included 90 patients (92 eyes) operated on by one surgeon for various diseases of the vitreous body and retina. The main group consisted of 43 patients (45 eyes) who underwent vitrectomy using 3D NGENUITY imaging system (Alcon), and the control group consisted of 47 patients (47 eyes) operated on a standard microscope. The minimum follow-up period was 3 months.
