At present, there is a great interest in the development of new airfoils for wind turbines and high-lift wings of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The requirements for such airfoils differ from conventional aircraft airfoils, because of structural reasons and extreme operating conditions. So, wind turbine airfoils operate frequently under fully separated flow when stall is used for power regulation at high wind speeds.
