Background: Noise has an impact on hearing loss and decreased power. Therefore the need for noise control one of them by using the ear protector. However, some studies have been done that workers who do not use personal protective equipment as the highest risk compared with others. It is necessary to change the behaviour of workers who do not use personal protective equipment to be obedient in using personal protective equipment. Purpose: the aims of this study to identify several factors that encourage obedient behaviour toward the use of ear protector in PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. Methods: This research method using descriptive research by using Primary and secondary data. Primary data collected from in-depth interview and observation. Results: The results of the study explained that all operators of ammonia and urea compressors of PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur was Already Compliant in using ear protection. However, there are still a number of factors that are less appropriate. The driving factors are knowledge of noise engineering control, the direct impact of noise, intensity and duration of exposure.
