The Story of the ‘Ethnographic Stories’ and Beyond: Some Further Thoughts on Sharing Fieldwork Experiences

In this article, we explain the preparation and publication process of the edited volume Etnografik Hikâyeler: Türkiye’de Alan Araştırması Deneyimleri (Metis, 2016) and find the opportunity to discuss some issues related to fieldwork experiences that we could not cover in the book. We address the researchers’ adaption to their field environment, their language competency, danger and security issues, emotional difficulties and research ethics with reference to the specific context of Turkey.
