The most significant results obtained in the low energy NN experiments performed at the low energy antiproton ring (CERN) are summarized. The main ingredients of the meson-exchange inspired models for the NN interaction are presented and their predictions compared with the measured data. A brief summary of the current experiments on antimatter is given. (57 refs)
