The soil mineralogy was determined both qualitatively and quantitatively by a series of analytical techniques, consisting of X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, X-ray fluorescence, and chemical analyses including cation exchange capacity (CEC), soil pH, and selective chemical dissolutions (SCD).
