This manual is intended to be a guide to the philosophy and use of the programming language CONNIVER, which is "complete," and running at the AI Lab now. It assumes good knowledge of LISP, but no knowledge of Micro-Planner, in whose implementation many design decisions were made that are not to be expected to have consequences in CONNIVER. Those not familiar with LISP should consult Weissmans (1967) Primer, the LISP 1.5 Programmer's Manual (McCarthy et.al., 1962), or Jon L.
