In the late 1930s changes were in the air for Hoosier citizens. As they went about their daily lives wars were raging in Europe and Asia. Many Hoosiers held isolationist sentiments and did not want to get involved. Even though America was not directly involved in those wars, Congress established the Selective Service Act in 1940 and Hoosiers were donating nonmilitary aid to Bundles for Britain and other charitable organizations to aid citizens in war torn countries around the world
