Thousands gathered on the Circle for the Grand Army of the Republic Parade in 1921. The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was a popular organization that represented Union veterans of the Civil War up through the early twentieth century. Indianapolis hosted eight GAR national encampments, more than any other city in the nation.Appears in Destination Indiana
