Higginson Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA PURPOSE: The purpose of the current study is to examine the effects of fatigue on joint kinematics, torque production, and mechanical efficiency of trained cyclists. Previous studies have shown that optimal efficiency decreases as cyclists fatigue during an exercise bout. A cyclist’s ability to maintain optimal efficiency and sport mechanics is critical in training, performance, and injury prevention.
