Kdouloň (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) a její plody jsou dnes u nás méně rozšířeným ovocným druhem. Práce poukazuje na vysokou nutriční hodnotu tohoto ovoce, která je známá v západní Evropě. Výzkum byl proveden u genotypů, které jsou potencionálně vhodné pro pěstování v ČR. Konkrétně bylo stanovováno množství pektinu, vlákniny, organických kyselin, minerálních látek a vitaminu C. Měřena byla taktéž jejich stravitelnost.
