There are several ethical constraints that researchers must consider, and approval by ethical committees is an important part of the research process. Measurement instruments are not always suitable for individuals with ID and cannot always be interpreted in the same way as for their intended population. Communication with individuals with ID is an additional challenge. How can researchers include them in their research and give them understandable information without using language that is too immature?
