System dynamics modelling for strategy implementation—case study and issues

The purpose of the paper is to investigate, how system dynamics modelling can be supportive for strategy implementation in organizations. In order to do so, we briefly discuss prospective features of strategy implementation interventions. Besides conceptual considerations, we base our arguments on a detailed case study from a high-tech company. Findings of this paper are that system dynamics modelling can be helpful for strategy implementation in regards to both strategy refinement and transfer of insights and understanding underlying the strategy forming. Research implications comprise the further evaluation of the approach and the discussion of potential ethical issues.
