The purpose of this article is to consider how the social environment surrounding women in China has changed as a result of the open-door reform policy, focusing on work, education and the political participation of women. It can be concluded that before the open-door policy, women's participation in the workforce and in politics had improved, and the number of female college students had increased temporarily as a result of emphasizing political position over academic ability as university entrance criteria. However, such “ achievements ” were the result of compulsory actions dictated by the government, and in the open-door era, in which specialized knowledge and skills are required, various problems have become apparent, such as women bei...
