Flood’s survey of Canadian craft activity from 1900 to 1950 concludes that contemporaneous writing about craft offers only a limited account of the diverse range of practices at that time. She also finds that the multiplicity of community craft practices contrasts sharply with the constricted activity of the museum community, which, unwilling to accommodate craft for various reasons, has contributed to the devaluation of a major component of Canadian culture.
