Wallace presents this exhibition of paintings completed in 1999-2000 by Leach, Singer and Stanbridge, who make reference to the 1960s language of modernist abstraction in their production. He traces the origins of the recent international resurgence of abstract art back to the New York scene of the 1980s and explains the specificity, working methods and visual impact of the works in the exhibition, and how they “draw upon personal experience, popular culture, and everyday life.” List of works.
