The goal of this course is to examine U.S. foreign policy since the end of World War II. The first part introduces the main theoretical and analytical approaches to study U.S. foreign policy. In the second part, we will examine American foreign policy during the Cold War and U.S. grand strategy following the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the third part, we will discuss U.S. foreign policy in relationship to major issues in contemporary international politics, including terrorism, human rights, humanitarian intervention, globalization, the Middle East, and the rise of China
