Corby, a priest who left his duties at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana to become a chaplain for the Irish Brigade with the Army of the Potomac in 1861, provides a short sketch of the soldiers and the chaplains with whom he served. He also tells of camp life, the battles in which the Brigade fought, such as the Battle of Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, and the places to which they traveled in the three years he was with them.1860s (1860-1869)600ppiCivil War Military FrontDC046This Civil War Military Front collection was funded by LSTA.
