The transient analysis of immobilized enzyme deactivation in a continuous stirred basket reactor is investigated theoretically by using a novel finite integral transform technique and a matched asymptotic expansion technique. The effects of intraparticle diffusion and the local intrinsic kinetic rate constants receive particular attention. The theoretical solutions are used to analyse the experimental results of hydrogen peroxide decomposition by the immobilized enzyme catalase
