The difficulty of realizing practical impedance levels once kept elliptic bandpass filters off of microstrip. Adapting a design method previously given for narrow-bandwidth ( less than 10 percent) TEM elliptic filters, we found that with appropriate modifications and precautions we could design the desired filters from the lowpass prototype values available in the literature. The overall design process is demonstrated
