A young girl with bobbed hair, wearing a velvet dress trimmed with embroidery poses for the camera in the Bretzman Studio. The customer card lists Mrs. H.G. Bates at 816 Eastern Avenue in Indianapolis but the child is not named. The city directory shows Herbert G. Bates at that address, he was the secretary of the American High Speed Chain Company. It is assumed that the girl is the couple's daughter. This image is a preservation copy made from an unstable original nitrate negative. The image is part of Series III
