In June 1928 Jordan bought the Metropolitan School of Music (founded in 1895) and the Indiana College of Music and Fine Arts (founded in 1907 as the College of Musical Art) and merged the two competing schools to form the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music. He bought property on Delaware and Pennsylvania streets and consolidated the conservatory at these locations and another site on North Street.
