The Porter County Courthouse was constructed from 1882-1883. It was built with Indiana limestone and designed by Chicago architect John C. Cochrane. The current building bears little resemblance to the original structure as a result of a devastating fire in 1934 that left nothing but the walls.Porter County Journe
