__abstract__ Hematopoiesis is the lifelong continuous process in which hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) proliferate and differentiate towards mature blood cells. Hematopoiesis is tightly controlled by a network of growth factors and the hematopoietic niche in the bone marrow (BM).
