This doctoral thesis tackles micro and nanometer-scale heat transfer phenomena. Heat conduction is first considered. A model of the thermal atomic force microscope (SThM) is presented, and the Wollaston resistive probe is analyzed so that it could be used at higher temperatures. Probe heat losses in the air are measured as a function of pressure. The heat exchange between the probe and a sample is measured as a function of the tip-sample distance. A simple modeling of the experiment, taking into account parallel heat flux lines, shows a different behavior than the one due to Fourier heat diffusion.
