peer reviewedLong-strip elements are plentiful in ai rcraft structure; they represent one type of MSD structure. Existing methods are unsatisfactory in one way or another for determining SIFs of long-strip elements. We propose a better method that is semi-analytical and numerical and that by passes to a large extent the shortcomings of existing methods. Sections 1 and 2 describe in detail our method; section 1 explains the principles and construction of a semi-analytical algorithm; one special and quite important part of our method requires full discussion in section 2.
