Three simultaneous elections, like those of 1999 and referred to by the Flemish as ‘the mother of all elections’. The Walloon context differs fundamentally from the Flemish, which has changed radically during the past ten years. In Wallonia the political landscape has been surprisingly stable, more so even than in Brussels.
