Conceptions, times and spaces of playing in the first year of elementary school.

This thesis discusses the conceptions, times and spaces of play in the first year of elementary school. The analyses focus on the situation of playing in the school, after the extension of primary education to nine years, implemented by Law 11274/2006. In the text of this law and other legal references pertinent to the context of education and children, as well as between parents and educators, there is a strong rhetoric about care in relation to the educational process during childhood and the importance of playing as a fundamental dimension in the development of children and as a pedagogical tool for education. This defense of play can be perceived in the Brazilian educational context and is expressed among teachers, in documents that guide the pedagogical proposals of school institutions, as well as permeates some of the main laws of Brazil pertinent to childhood. However, with the reorganization of basic education, the compulsory entry of children into elementary school from the age of six and the requirements of the evaluation mechanisms of the educational system, notably basic education, play has been neglected at school, especially in the early years of the first cycle of elementary school. To analyze this context, this study is guided by socio-anthropological and philosophical approaches. The methodology used began with a survey and analysis of dissertations and theses, produced as of 2006, which have as central discussion the play and the fundamental education of nine years. The instruments of data collection are questionnaires and interviews with teachers working at this level of education, as well as observation, during five months, of the school routine of three classes of first year of elementary school. When analyzing how play is present in the context of a municipal public school, considering the conceptions, times and spaces dedicated to it in the first year, it is evident that these three dimensions do not find, in daily practice, the same power given to them in the theoretical-discursive framework. The questionnaires, interviews and observations carried out during the research show that conceptions about playing, which effectively permeate everyday school life and that appear between teachers and the pedagogical team of the school, are linked to a vision of playing as a pedagogical support for learning the school contents. In this sense, the view one has of playing does not contemplate and does not realize that it can be important in what it has in itself, as a human dimension that allows to try different forms of learning not necessarily linked to the pedagogic school, but in accordance with pedagogical dimensions existential for the human being. As a conclusion, it proposes a different conception of play, opposing to the repressed play and minimally consented in the initial years of elementary school and defending the play unregulated, maximized, free of the excesses precepts that are imposed by school education and potentialized in time and space.Sem bolsaEsta tese discute as concepções, tempos e espaços do brincar no primeiro ano do ensino fundamental. As análises enfocam a situação em que se encontra o brincar, no âmbito da escola, após a ampliação do ensino fundamental para nove anos, implementado pela Lei 11274/2006. No texto dessa lei e de outras referências jurídicas pertinentes ao contexto da educação e das crianças, assim como entre pais e educadores, há uma forte retórica sobre os cuidados em relação ao processo educativo durante a infância e a importância do brincar como dimensão fundamental no desenvolvimento das crianças e como ferramenta pedagógica para a educação. Essa defesa do brincar pode ser percebida no contexto educacional brasileiro e se expressa entre professoras, em documentos que orientam as propostas pedagógicas de instituições escolares, como também permeia algumas das principais leis do Brasil pertinentes à infância. Entretanto, com a reorganização da educação básica, a obrigatoriedade da entrada das crianças no ensino fundamental a partir dos seis anos e as exigências dos mecanismos avaliativos do sistema educacional, notoriamente da educação básica, o brincar tem sido menosprezado no âmbito escolar, especialmente nos anos iniciais do primeiro ciclo do ensino fundamental. Para analisar este contexto, o estudo orienta-se pelas abordagens sócio-antropológica e filosófica. A metodologia utilizada parte de um levantamento e análise de dissertações e teses, produzidas a partir de 2006, que têm como discussão central o brincar e o ensino fundamental de nove anos. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados são questionários e entrevistas com professoras atuantes nesse nível de ensino, bem como observação, durante cinco meses, da rotina escolar de três turmas de primeiro ano do ensino fundamental. Ao se analisar o modo como o brincar está presente no contexto de uma escola pública municipal, atentando para as concepções, os tempos e os espaços dedicados a ele no primeiro ano, evidencia-se que essas três dimensões não encontram, na prática cotidiana, a mesma potência que lhes são dadas no âmbito teórico-discursivo. Os questionários, entrevistas e observações realizadas durante a pesquisa revelam que as concepções sobre o brincar, que efetivamente permeiam o cotidiano escolar e que aparecem entre professoras e equipe pedagógica da escola, estão vinculadas a uma visão do brincar como suporte pedagógico para a aprendizagem dos conteúdos escolares. Nesse sentido, a visão que se tem do brincar não contempla e não percebe que ele pode ser importante naquilo que tem em si mesmo, como dimensão humana que permite experimentar variadas formas de aprendizagem não necessariamente vinculadas ao pedagógico escolar, porém em conformidade com dimensões pedagógicas existenciais para o ser humano. Como conclusão, propõe-se uma concepção diferente de brincar, contrapondo-se ao brincar refreado e minimamente consentido nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental e defendendo o brincar desregrado, maximizado, livre do excesso de preceitos que lhe são impostos pela educação escolar e potencializado em tempo e espaço
