Inverted classroom: an active methodology in the teaching of mathematics for the final years of elementary school

The study aimed to present the results of an investigation on the potential of the Active Methodology of the Inverted Classroom, also known as Flipped Classroom, in mathematical learning with 9th grade students, aiming at: elaborating a proposal, based on the Classroom Inverted Class, designed for the teaching of Mathematics and for the reality of students and the researcher teacher, during the COVID19 pandemic in Brazil, supported by Activity Theory (VV Davidov, 1988); apply the proposal based on the development of the content of Flat Geometry, specifically the Pythagorean Theorem; analyze the proposal, based on the appreciation of the didactic activities developed, verifying if the Inverted Classroom promotes the learning of the presented mathematical concepts; develop a video / tutorial on how to apply the Inverted Classroom. Regarding the methodological procedures: The research process took place through the elaboration and application of a Systematic Literature Review supported by the Parsif.al software. Qualitative research was privileged, with research of an exploratory and empirical nature, based on a case study. For data collection, questionnaires and electronic records / Google Classroom were used, submitted to content analysis, according to Bardin (2006), which made it possible to identify the understandings expressed by the students. The results suggest that although the Inverted Classroom Methodology is not new in the educational scenario, it exposes conditions for teachers and students to experience different relationships in the study process, whose ways of learning, in addition to being significant, enable autonomy in studies of students, enhancing and reframing learning in present times. At the end, some considerations and suggestions are presented in which the Inverted Classroom, when contemplating a class inversion, can update a position, in which the student assumes the protagonism for his learning.O estudo teve como objetivo apresentar os resultados de uma investigação sobre a potencialidade da Metodologia Ativa da Sala de Aula Invertida, também conhecida como Flipped Classroom, na aprendizagem matemática com estudantes dos 9º anos do Ensino Fundamental, objetivando: elaborar uma proposta, baseada na Sala de Aula Invertida, pensada para o ensino de Matemática e para a realidade dos alunos e da professora pesquisadora, durante a pandemia do COVID19 no Brasil, amparada pela Teoria da Atividade (V. V. Davidov, 1988); aplicar a proposta com base no desenvolvimento do conteúdo de Geometria Plana, especificamente o Teorema de Pitágoras; analisar a proposta, a partir da apreciação das atividades didáticas desenvolvidas, verificando se a Sala de Aula Invertida promove a aprendizagem dos conceitos matemáticos apresentados e; desenvolver um vídeo/tutorial de aplicação da Sala de Aula Invertida. Em relação aos procedimentos metodológicos: o processo de investigação deu-se através da elaboração e aplicação de uma Revisão Sistemática de Literatura apoiada no software Parsif.al. Privilegiou-se a pesquisa qualitativa, com investigação de natureza exploratória e empírica, baseada em um estudo de caso. Para coleta de dados empregaram-se questionários e registros eletrônicos do Google Classroom, submetidos à análise de conteúdo, conforme Bardin (2006), o que possibilitou identificar as compreensões manifestadas pelos alunos. Os resultados sugerem que embora a Metodologia da Sala de Aula Invertida não seja novidade no cenário educacional, ela expõe condições para que os professores e alunos experimentem diferentes relações nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem, cujos modos de aprender, além de significativos, possibilitam a autonomia nos estudos dos alunos, potencializando e ressignificando a aprendizagem em tempos presentes. Ao final, apresentam-se algumas considerações e sugestões na qual a Sala de Aula Invertida, ao contemplar uma inversão de aula, pode atualizar uma posição, em que o aluno assume o protagonismo pelo seu aprendizado
