Short History of German Writings in the 19th and 20th centuries

The German writing of the 19th and 20th centuries has its roots in the Carolingian minuscule of the Middle Ages. The first tiny Gothic gestures appeared in the 12th century, not in Germany, but in France. Until the 15th century, several forms of Gothic writing coexisted in the West while, at the same time, cursive writing, which was faster to trace, was used in everyday life.
